STEVEN TATE — CHERUBIM High-Top Luxury Sneaker

CHERUBIM is a sculptural luxury high-top from STEVEN TATE, built around the visual language of wings, protection, elevation, and heavenly presence. The silhouette is immediately recognizable through its layered, feather-like leather panels that sweep backward around the ankle, giving the sneaker the appearance of wings wrapping around the foot.

Unlike a conventional high-top, CHERUBIM is designed as both footwear and a statement piece. The substantial upper, tonal construction, embossed details, custom outsole, and exceptionally soft suede interior give it the presence of a collectible luxury sneaker.

Design & Construction

The upper is constructed in richly textured premium leather with a softly broken-in surface character rather than an overly polished finish. This gives the shoe depth while allowing the natural grain to remain visible.

The signature feature is the series of layered wing-inspired leather panels extending from the lower quarter through the ankle. Each individual section is shaped, padded, edged and stitched to create a dimensional feather effect. The panels gradually increase in scale toward the collar, making the design appear to rise upward around the foot.

A tall padded tongue anchors the front of the sneaker. At the top, STEVEN TATE appears in refined gold lettering. Beneath it sits an ornate tonal embossed crest, molded directly into the leather for a subtle, almost architectural effect rather than a printed graphic.

The sneaker uses substantial tonal laces running through matching reinforced eyelets. The dense lace arrangement complements the oversized tongue and gives the shoe a secure, structured appearance.

The toe is finished with small ventilation perforations while retaining a smooth luxury profile. Tonal stitching throughout keeps the construction sophisticated and allows the wing structure to remain the visual focus.

Luxury Suede Interior

The inside of CHERUBIM is designed to feel dramatically softer than its structured exterior.

The sneaker is lined with very soft premium luxury suede, selected for a plush hand feel against the foot. Each colorway receives a matching tonal suede interior, creating an uninterrupted monochromatic experience when the sneaker is viewed from above or worn unlaced.

The padded collar, tongue and suede-lined interior are intended to create a cushioned, enveloping fit appropriate for an elevated high-top rather than a rigid fashion sneaker.

Custom Outsole

A contrasting cream/off-white rubber cupsole grounds each colorway and gives the darker versions a strong visual break.

The bottom incorporates a full-length herringbone traction pattern and a large centered STEVEN TATE custom Y logo, integrated prominently into the outsole. The oversized Y becomes one of the sneaker’s identifying signatures when the sole is visible.

The rear sole carries the TATE treatment, further distinguishing the silhouette from conventional high-tops.

Colorways

Espresso — A deep chocolate-brown leather with matching espresso laces, stitching and luxury suede lining. Warm, sophisticated and especially suited to the sculptural character of the design.

Burgundy — A deep wine-toned leather with tonal burgundy components and matching suede interior. This version emphasizes the dramatic, almost ceremonial character of CHERUBIM.

Cream — A monochromatic cream leather interpretation with matching laces, hardware treatment and soft cream suede interior. The lighter palette makes every seam, embossed crest and individual wing panel especially visible.

Black — The strongest and most understated version: black textured leather, tonal black construction and matching black suede interior contrasted against the cream outsole.
