Luxury Velvet & Suede Sneaker
ANGELS is a luxury low-top sneaker from STEVEN TATE, designed around softness, contrast, and a refined athletic silhouette. The design combines luminous crushed velvet, smooth white leather detailing, distressed suede branding, and a sculpted gum outsole to create a sneaker that feels sophisticated while remaining unmistakably distinctive.
The upper is constructed primarily from premium champagne-toned crushed velvet, giving ANGELS its rich, light-catching surface. Depending on the direction of the velvet pile and lighting, the material shifts naturally between champagne, warm beige, and soft golden tones. Tonal velvet paneling and carefully placed seams give the shoe structure without taking away from the softness of the material.
A worn white suede Y logo is integrated into the side of the sneaker. Rather than appearing perfectly polished, the suede has a deliberately aged, distressed character that contrasts against the luxurious sheen of the velvet. This combination of refinement and imperfection gives ANGELS much of its identity.
The lace system uses a clean white leather eyestay with understated punched lace holes and flat white laces. A slim brown vertical tongue label carries STEVEN TATE in small gold lettering, creating a restrained luxury signature rather than oversized branding.
At the rear, a sculpted white leather heel tab is finished with subtle gold STEVEN TATE branding. A vertical velvet center seam continues down the heel, emphasizing the handcrafted panel construction.
Inside, ANGELS is finished in ultra-soft white suede, creating a plush interior from heel through footbed. The light interior provides a sophisticated contrast to the champagne velvet exterior while reinforcing the sneaker’s luxury positioning.
The sole is one of the defining elements of the design. A clean white midsole is separated from the upper by a thin warm gum-colored layer, while the full gum-rubber outsole features a deep repeating wave/chevron traction pattern. Your custom Y emblem is recessed into the bottom of the outsole, giving the branding an architectural appearance rather than simply printing it onto the sole.
